IPL 4: DAY 14 Review…

April 21, 2011 at 11:55 pm (Cricket, IPL, IPL 2011, IPL 4) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Hi Guys,

Full Aussie flavoured Match as, Two Aussie veterans face each other, Warne won the coin from Gilly and decided to chase, which has been a trend in IPL in this season so far. Nothing much to do by Warnie bowler, as they were massacred by KXIP batsmen and RR bowlers picked two wickets in two no balls, and both of the openers. In simple nothing went right and its de day for Preity to be all smiles and dimple, which see was able to keep it all de day till the end, As KXIP won the match by 48 runs.

Standings as on DAY 14:

IPL 2: Day 14 Review

May 2, 2009 at 1:38 am (IPL) (, , , , , , )

Hi guys…

Its day 14 in IPL Season 2.

Another good day for cricketing fans.

Match 23:

Mumbai Indians Vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Mumbai won de toss and decided to Bat first, Cant say they had a good start, jayasuriya went out when the scores are at 19. Surprised to see Bhajji in first down, but his intentions are very clear from the very first ball, he want to clear the ropes, but fell to Murali karthik, later sachin carried the innings with few breeze sixes and all of a sudden KKR looked so good in bowling and MI started struggling a bit, but in the ned its brilliance of JP duminy got them to a total of 148. Bowilng, surprise 7 bowlers r used, and ishant ran off as 4-0-24-1. other just dont really make it sense in mentioning.

match-23

Chasing 149, KKR had a very bad start, even the change of opening pair, didnt seems to work for them, Ganguly gone for a duck in the very first ball and gayle followed him after couple of shots. KKR really didnt show any enthu in winning the match, they were progressing very slow, Thanks to missed run out by Bhajji, Hodge capitalised on it  and built a partnership with Van wyk which went on to give some chances for KKR, but its all too late to pick up.  after the loss of Van wyk and hodge in the over before the last. In the end its Mumbai won the match by 9 runs comfortable.

Bredon McCullum played very poorly in this season, which is also the reason for the downfall of KKR, he scored 31 till now in 6 matchs and he scored 21 in one match, which makes just 10 in all the other 5 matchs. Hope they come back to redeem their reputation.

Match 24:

Royal challengers Bangalore Vs Kings XI Punjab

Kumble came as the captain for RCB, as the skipper Pietersen left to home for series against west indies. And again, as we were seeing, a wicket fell on the very first over, its jesse ryder this time, went just for 2. In batting, i can tpoint out any sepratley , bcoss all chipped in with 10’s and close to 20’s…. Its only one person who stand out of the list is Merwe, who had a dream 18th over, in which he clubbed 16 runs before getting out, and that over yielding 21 runs, which really made the difference.

Bowling, Yep…. a spl mention for Yuvi, the skipper of KXIP, who picked up the Hat Trick today, victims are Kallis , Uthappa and Boucher, which really put the breaks in scoring. also Yusuf abdulla, who took the purple cap with 4 wickets today.

match-24

Chasing 146, Punjab came out with yuvraj as the opener, which seems to be a dream run for KXIP, he clubbed the bowlers for maximum very often and he set the highest opening partnership for Punjab (70), out of those 70 yuvi scored 50 and very next ball he was out to Jumbo… I shud say, till 15 overs, Match was very much in the handds of KXIP, then RCB came out of no where to bowl few real good overs, and they won it bcos of their depth bowling, Kumble himslef shouldered the performance with VD Merwe and P kumar.

In the end , RCB won the match by 8 runs…. beleive it….

Standings as on Day 14:

standings-14

This table is wide open, for any one to grab any place they wish…. Wait and Watch….

– Strategic time out yielded one more wicket, which becomes 11th time, this time its Karan goel of KXIP.
