IPL 6: Day 46–Azhar’s Heroics & Kohli’s Aggression for the day…

May 19, 2013 at 1:05 am (Cricket, IPL, IPL 2013, IPL 6) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hi…

Game 1, Last game in cricket field for the Australian Wicket keeping legend Gilchrist. Rohit won the toss and decided to field first, Both the openers didn’t make a big impression as they departed with 6 on the board. It was left to Azhar Mahmood & Marsh to take the KXIP into safety, which they both did perfectly with timed aggression with a partnership of 148 runs. Later scoring 80 of 44 balls and Marsh got 63 from 47 balls. Manan Vohra late 20 made sure KXIP scored 183 in 20 overs. Mumbai was totally out of form today, no one looked to get going at any point and credit also goes to KXIP bowlers who kept Mumbai always in the bay. However best part is when Gilly bowled the last over for the first time in his cricketing career and picked wicket in the very first ball. Later followed the Gilly’s own version of Gagnam style to end the veteran’s cricketing career.

Kings XI Punjab won the match by 50 runs…

Game 2, Just time pass for the crowd should we call it, rain curtailed match and 8 overs per side. Tailor made situation for players like Gayle, Kohli & ABD. RCB in a do or die situation came really good with skipper leading from the front scoring a quick fifty. Few skiers from Gayle in the middle overs made sure to get mammoth 106/2 in 8 overs. CSK never got into chase, late strike from Dhoni & Vijay made sure CSK scored 82 runs. RCB won a very important game and now they will be hoping KKR to win the game against SRH tomorrow and make way for RCB to playoff’s.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match by 24 runs…

Standings as on DAY 46:

image

All eyes on tomorrow’s last game of this season, which will decide the last spot of playoff’s. KKR wins – RCB through, if SRH wins they go through. Simple equation, without any doubt the whole Bangalore will be watching the match rather than Kolkata.

RCB with help of Kohli and AB helped RCB to come out from a slow start and posted a competitive score of 165 runs. Chennai got off to a disastrous start by losing its openers very cheaply. Badrinath and Raina steadied the middle innings, Later Dhoni & Jadeja kept CSK always in the hunt, When 29 needed of last two overs and Dhoni walking back to pavilion edging the ball outside off meant CSK is down & out. But Sir Jadeja pulled the rabbit out hat to pull off a stunner.

IPL 5: Day 22 – Rayudu held on to a cliff hanger…

April 26, 2012 at 2:29 am (Cricket, IPL, IPL 2012, IPL 5) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hi all,

Match 33:

Mumbai Indians Vs Kings XI Punjab

Nothing much to write on the KXIP performance for the day, as Hussey’s desperation and Miller’s late blow and Harbhajan’s poor captaincy all aided KXIP to score more than par score of 168/3 in 20 overs.

Match 33 Scorecard:
KXIP 168/3 in 20 overs.
D.Hussey 68*              D.Miller 34*
RP Singh 1/27             C.Mckay 1/36
MI 171/6 in 19.5 overs.
R.Sharma 50               A.Rayudu 34*
A.Mahmood 2/23       P.Awana 3/39
MI WON THE MATCH BY 4 WICKETS & 1 ball to spare…

Mumbai needed a miracle to win after losing wickets in regular and it miracle came a blessing from Chwla in the penultimate over in which both Peterson & Rayudu piled up 27 runs to win, from the equation of 32 needed in 12 balls, it became 5 need of 6 balls. It was just ritual from MI to finish the game in last over with a ball to spare. Mumbai won the game in just 2 overs of insanity.

Match 34:

Chennai Super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Another match in the two days to be called with any action, all we had is just toss, in which Bangalore won the toss and decided to field first. This will certainly pull down the viewership of IPL 5. This should been a cracker of an contest after the one we had in Chennai with the highest run chase for this season.

However end of the day, Now both teams will share a point each and will join the top 4 in the points table.

Standings as on DAY 22:

Cric Standings Day 22

Interesting Stats on DAY 22:

– Munaf Patel bowled the 13th maiden of this season also his second maiden.

IPL 5: Day 9 – Morkel’s Blitz & Marsh’s Bliss seal the day…

April 13, 2012 at 1:24 am (Cricket, IPL, IPL 2012, IPL 5) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hi all,

It’s been a fantastic day in IPL 5, One of the best match of this season has gone through.

Match 13:

Chennai Super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

And again Dhoni lost the coin and had to field first in Chepauk, having lost their previous home game, they needed to win this in front of their home crowd, and also the fortress. Both Mayank Agarwal & Gayle gave a good fifty run start, surprising Gayle being the dormant partner. But thats all the time he kept himself quite and from then he swung his bat in all directions to make a carnage in Chennai’s bowling, 162 came up in 16 overs, he notched up 100 runs partnership between Kohli. However, close to 220 was always on, unless 5 wickets fell of the last 8 balls bowled, it didn’t help the cause. which meant RCB were 205/8 in 20 overs. A very good score in any T20 game.

Having to chase a big score, Chennai needed a good start and finally they got that with first fifty run partnership, but its the old veteran Muralidharan, who previously played with Chennai, claimed Murali to a blinder return catch. Raina flexed his muscles for time, but couldn’t stay long though, Dhoni promoted himself up the order cam smacked few before mistiming a helicopter shot. It boiled down to Bravo & Morkel, who has to face the penultimate over of Virat Kohli… And what has happened six balls after that was a massacre Kohli can’t take it off from his dreams. He pummeled 28 runs of that over, leaving 15 to get in the final Vinay kumar over. Having scored 28 runs, Chennai managed the 15 runs in the last over thanks to Bravo’s one hand sixer, and Jadeja’s kitchen sink style shot to win the game in the very last ball. It was a cracker of the day….

Match 14:

Pune Warriors India Vs Kings XI Punjab

Having won the other two games Dada will like to make it a hat-trick, and Gilly and team doesn’t want the same to be in the losing front. Gilly won the coin and decided to field first in a good bowling pitch, and Mascarnenhas made the best use of the condition and picked up his first 5 wicket haul in IPL. Which meant PWI got bowled out for 115 in 19 overs.

Having to chase less than 6 runs an over, is always a good deal, but not if u lose the wicket on the very first ball of the game. From then its Aussie’s time as both Marsh and Gilly stitched a 50 runs partnership between them, before losing out. Marsh never lost this cool, he was calm and the glimpses of IPL season 1 began to show in his class. Not much support needed from other end in a low score chasing game, still Chawla stayed there to finish the game for Kings XI Punjab and to bring the dimple smile out of Preethi Zinda’s face.

Interesting Facts as on Day 9:

–          RCB registered the fastest team fifty of the season by scoring in 4.5 overs, bettering KKR’s 5.1 overs.

IPL 4: Big Finals: CSK Vs RCB…

May 29, 2011 at 1:23 am (Cricket, IPL, IPL 2011, IPL 4) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Match 74: Big Finals:
Chennai Super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Match that has been waited for past 50 days, and surging past tiresome 73 games, finally here is the final’s – Chennai taking on their close neighbours Bangalore. Dhoni could do no wrong on this day as he won the coin and straight away decided to Bat first on a track which looked to slow down in the later of the innings. Hussey and Vijay proved how crucial the decision was, as both of them took RCB’s bowling apart, esp Vijay was merciless when ball was pitched in his arc of swinging arm. Balls touched crowd more often than the boundary lines. Both these players not only found boundaries, a point worth a mentioning is running between the wicket, i am damn sure, CSK would have stole minimum of 25 to 30 runs, with quick running between them. These two have been a example for the players watching throughout the world. Both Players got of to the fifties, Vijay being the first followed slowly by Hussey. After a record opening partnership stands between them, Hussey departed for well made 63 runs. Dhoni came in two hits to ground and he was gone, Murali Vijay finally got himself out, after a tiresome innings of 95 of 52 balls. Bravo and Raina hat their point to say with their six over the bowlers to finish Chennai with mammoth 205/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing a score over 10 runs per over needed a kind of start that only Gayle can give, but it wasn’t the day for him, as Ashwin “The Undertaker” who did him again and this time even before Gayle thought of touching the ball, he was caught behind for a 3 ball duck. Mayank Agarwal was the second victim of Ashwin who failed to pick the carom ball. RCB seems can bounce back when De Villers and Kolhi were batting, but once Jakathi removed De Villiers cheaply for 18, it just game Chennai all the way, Kohli went for a sweep against Raina and completely missed it to fall prey of  LBW decision. Tiwary alone batted out the 20 overs just to justify his 1.6Mn purchase. In the end a most one sided final out of all the four tournaments we have seen, CSK won the match by 58 runs…

For Chennai, its a team effort and as a unit they clicked, right from the auction where they went on to retain maximum of their players. Now, they have a proven point. CSK ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF IPL 2011………………

GUMMTAKALAI GUMMAVA, ENGA CHENNAINA CHUMMAVA….

CHENNAI SUPER KINGSKU ORU PERIYA WHISLE PODU MAMU….

IPL 4: Play off–1: CSK Vs RCB…

May 25, 2011 at 2:21 am (Cricket, IPL, IPL 2011, IPL 4) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Match 71: Play off – 1:
Chennai Super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

A Game you can remember ever if your a ardent T20 cricket fan irrespective of which team your supporting. you will be rejoiced if you were supporting the men in yellow to win the match, as they emerged triumphant with a never die attitude and to go straight into finals for the third time in the IPL history.

Dhoni won the toss and decided to field first, how often you see Dhoni wants to chase especially in a T20 game, it was that kind of the day, May be Gayle would have made the change in the mind of Dhoni. However, things started well, as usual Ashwin struck as soon as he was hit for six, this time a Undertaker’s sign to finish off Chris Gayle, when he was trapped in front of the wicket attempting a sweep. Even though Gayle went so early Kohli along with Manish Agarwal and Luke  Pomerbach did the repair to restore RCB back in track, as well late on slaughter from Kohli ensured RCB went past 150 easily and they ended up 175/4 in 20 overs.

Disastrous start you could ever ask for, as Hussey dismissed in the very first over for a duck, followed by Vijay with a rare Taufel’s wrong decision to pavilion and scorecard read 7/2 in 2 overs. Both batsmen in the crease very well know they can’t lose another wicket in hurry and end up just like in the last match, so both Raina and Badri kept the plan simple to rotate strike till the iron is hot enough to strike. Just before that Badri was dismissed for well made 34. Finally the time for killer blow came in the over of Abimanyu Mithun both Dhoni and Raina looted 23 runs to give a kick start for dying CSK, But this guy from Caribbean, still wanted to fight back but this time with balls in his hands, he was firing in yorkers, sliders, short jab balls, none seems to connect s he kept the run rate for CSK in the check all the time till finished off in 18th over. u need other bowlers to support Gayle, but it wasn’t happening as Raina took Zaheer’s 17th over for 20 runs but he still got the wicket of Skipper Dhoni, but irony is that it brought none other than Morkel to crease. 33 needed of last two and Sreenath Arvind couldn’t do much against destructive Morkel as he leaked 21 runs, leaving just 12 to get in the final, and Morkel sealed it in style with the trademark six of the long on to seal the berth for finals in IPL 2011… CSK won the match by 6 wickets and 2 balls to spare….

Match 71 Scorecard:
RCB 175/4 in 20 overs.
V.Kohli 70*                M.Agarwal 34
D.Bollinger 1/20       R.Ashwin 1/33
CSK 177/4 in 19.4 overs.
S.Raina 73*         S.Badrinath 34
Z.Khan 2/31        S.Aravind 1/32
CSK WON THE MATCH BY 6 WICKETS…
Interesting facts as on DAY 46:

– Raina hit the 600th six and 4th fifty of this season.

– Suresh Raina is the only batsmen to go past 400 runs mark in all the seasons of IPL so far.

– Virat Kohli’s is the third batsmen to go past 500 runs mark in this season. He is now with 514 runs.

– Mike Hussey scored the first duck of this season.

– CSK is the only team to enter finals 3 times in IPL; it will also be the first team to defend their title in the finals.

– This is first time in the tournament that a match has ended with 2 balls to spare, surprise teams have been chasing so comfortably and how boring it have been all these days.

– It’s 5th time in this season, that Ashwin has dismissed a batsmen right after hitting a six in his ball.

At the end of DAY 46:

No.of Catches Dropped for the day – 0

Total no.of Boundaries – 1839

Total no.of Sixes –604

Orange Cap – Chris Gayle (519) followed by Virat Kohli (514)

Purple Cap – S.Malinga (27) followed by Amit Mishra (19)

Most Sixes – Chris Gayle (39) followed by MS Dhoni (21)

IPL 4: DAY 45 Review…

May 23, 2011 at 12:35 am (Cricket, IPL, IPL 2011, IPL 4) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hi Guys,

Final day in IPL 4 for the league matches, as top four teams clash on an important day to decided their places in the top 4.

Match 69, Chennai taking on RCB, whoever wins this game will take the top position without any chaos, over the result of the next match happening later in the day. Vettori won the toss and decided to field first, As expected tinge of green in the pitch did its job to seem and spin the ball in the beginning, which Chennai didn’t tackle for, so they lost 4 quick wickets for 22. Later two wicketkeeper batsmen joined in rescuing the Chennai, Apart from Saha, none seems to help Dhoni as he waged the lone battle to score his best score in the IPL. As CSK finished with 128/8 in 20 overs. RCB had one man to do the mission always, It’s Gayle and it is just him, with his unbeaten 75* he sealed the game for RCB. RCB will be hoping for someone to click other than Gayle, because we all know what happened against KXIP when he was dismissed for a duck. How ever RCB won this game with 8 wickets and 12 balls to spare and top the league chart with 19 points.

Match 70, After a loss for CSK, KKR will fancy their chances a lot to enter into the 2nd place with the win. Rather MI’s will like to finish the game on the high note. Sachin won the toss and decided to field first,  We didn’t see Kallis at his best for long time, it was his day as he went on to score his 14th IPL fifty, along with Manoj Tiwary and Yusuf Pathan, KKR went to score 175/7 in 20 overs. Mumbai lost Suman early, which made Harbhajan to come in at no.3, Surprise move, but was effective for the day as he built a solid partnership with Sachin to put Mumbai back on track, but after his dismissal, MI’s lost their way to Rajat Bhatia’s slow cutters, It looked almost over when Mumbai needed 21 of the last over, But Destiny isn’t what u say or u decide, Two streaky edges went to boundary, leaving 13 needed of 4, two more came with two good shots, as MI needed 5 of 2. Franklin scored a single after four boundaries, last ball came and Rayudu faced to create a Javed Miandad’s moment to win the game with the SIXXXXX of mid wicket. And yes, Mumbai won the match by 5 wickets. Wow… This is why u need IPL…

For me, Match 1 and Match 70 were the best Match 1 started with 2 runs victory for CSK and Match 70 ended with a SIX to win for MI… Both the times Kolkata being in the receiving end unfortunately.

IPL 3: Day 20 Review…

April 1, 2010 at 12:49 am (IPL, IPL 3) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hi guys,

Its Day 20 in IPL 3… Its a Double header day… What a day to have two games, March 31st… Every1 who is into sales will know the importance of this date… Quite a hectic day…

Match 28 Review:
Chennai Super Kings Vs Royals Challengers Bangalore

No more turning back for Chennai as they have to win this match to say atleast they in the contention for the semifinals. On the other hand, its Royal challengers having a galla time, winning 4 games out of 6 and in the second position of the table. In the chennai’s rising heat, Kumble won the toss and decided to bat first, Thusara and Gony started the things, and Thusara gave a vital break by removing Manish Pandey early. Later in the next over Gony dropped a S I T T E R of Uthappa, where he himself got punished by him taking for 19 runs. At the end of powerplay overs RCB where 52/1… This is the time spin duo came into play (Murali and Jakathi), both bowled really well, made the ball to grip of the surface and skid before the batsmen play their shots. Uthappa wsa the first victim to Jakathi, mistimed one to long on.  Kallis and Kohli kept the things going slowly and didnt allow any wickets to fall in the middle overs. Turn around of the match u call it, Its 16th over of the match as Jakathi picked Kohli in the first ball and third ball Kallis was run out, and further in the over no runs are scored, which gave the first ever double wicket maiden for IPL.  Late surge from Pieterson and White(their first IPL game of this season) got them to a score of 161/4 in 20 overs.

RCB 161/4 in 20 overs.

J.Kallis 52             V.Kohli 34
S.Jakathi 2/17   Thusara 1/30

CSK 166/5 in 19 overs.

M.Vijay 78             S.Raina 44*
Kumble 1/16        Steyn 1/20

CSK WON THE MATCH BY 5 WICKETS.

A Must win situation for Chennai infront their home crowd, Murali Vijay took the roll of aggressor, as he balsted 24 runs of Praveen’s 2nd over. Hayden was mere an audience with another 40,000 in the ground. At the end of 3 overs, Hayden faced just one delivery where he scored just a bye. on the other hand Murali had 37 runs. Both Hayden and Vijay continue to go past the 50 run partnership, but RCB skipper pulled himself back to remove haydos, Raina joined Vijay and runs continued to come from Vijay, he took Pieterson for 2 sixes and adrenalin rush took him and he mistimed one to long on. Dhoni and Raina just nudged singles and made suer, RCB dont make inroads easily also made sure they get that odd boundary every now and then. A big upset came when Dhoni and Morkel departed in quick succession and Kumble charged up and tried to pull the game out of the hand of CSK.  Crucial 19th over was bowled by Vinay Kumar as CSK needed 16 to win. Badri got  boundary in the 4th ball, to add twist to tale he was out the very next ball. Needing another 10 to win in last 8 balls, Chennai crowd got the glimpse of previous match with KXIP (me too), But Vinay kumar faultered at the important moment as he bowled a no ball and raina thrashed it to a six, the very next ball (free hit) also a no ball, and raina scored 2., which meant CSK won the game, but no one realised it, but to make perfect, raina smashed a boundary past mid on to seal the game for Chennai.

Match 29 Review:
Delhi Daredevils Vs Rajasthan Royals

Both the teams with 8 points, will look to take the vital lead, Gambhir won the toss and decided to bat first, last match centurion and shewag walked down, Shewag started off in the typical fashion, starting with a six and and followed by a boundary, When both the openers are abt to be settled, Narwal the bowling change worked as he picked both the openers in the space of 3 balls.. and very soon, Collingwood made a mess of a run to see himself back to pavilion, after a brief stay jadhav also departed for delhi, scorecard read 70/4 in 9 overs, with rajasthan in full control, in came Dinesh karthik alongside the skipper gambhir, both played an excellent innings to get delhi back in control, late fire power from karthik and mcdonald made sure delhi got a very defendable score of 188/6 in 20 overs.

DD 188/4 in 20 overs.

D.Karthik 69     G.Gambhir 43
Narwal 3/36     Warne 1/26

RR 121/10 in 17.4 overs.

N.Ojha 27             Y.Pathan 24
A.Mishra 3/25    F.Maharoof 2/13

DD WON THE MATCH BY 67 RUNS.

Chasing 189, Rajasthan had their worst start ever, as two of their batsmen back to hut in the space of just 4 balls in first over, delhi crowd went berserk. From then on, its almost a one sided game, as Rajasthan tried to peek a look over target someone got out to pull back, it kept happening, as Ojha top scored with 27 and yusuf with 24 with a survived chance.Delhi was brilliant in the field as they held anything came their way, except for a tough chance to collingwood, David warner in spl, took 4 catches and inflected a run out with a direct hit. Eventhough Delhi didn’t have Nannes bcos of injury, Maharoof filled his shoes perfectly. Mishy bowled really well his spell and picked three important wickets, including one big fish Yusuf pathan..  In the end RR fell well short of the target with 67 runs.

Standings as on DAY 20 in IPL 3:

IPL 2: Day 27 Review

May 15, 2009 at 1:49 am (IPL) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

Hi…

If u have blinked the eyes u have missed an exciting action of cricket. Yep, its another day where both the games went down to the wire.

Match 44:

Chennai Super kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Chennai would love to win their sixth game in a row, but it much more important for Jumbo’s men to see themselves in semi finals. Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first, to a big surprise Kumble himself bowled the first over and gave away just 4 in it. But in the next over hayden went on to take vinay kumar for 3 boundaries and proved why he is still wearing the orange cap. Vijay departed early without making much, (guess he ll be out of squad for next match) then raina had an another short stay of 13 to his name. Dhoni and hayden stayed down till the break time with score is 72/2 in 10 overs. Back from break hayden looked so aggressive and completed yet another half century. as dhoni departed, hayden followed him, when score was 101 and its just 13 overs. But after this every one would have lost faith on the Chennai’s hopeless middle order batting, not even to the mark of 6 runs an over. which in the end resulted just the total of 129 in 19.4 overs. (which means they scored 28 runs in 40 balls and lost 6 wickets after hayden departed).

To tell abt bowling, excellent comeback, Kumble sud be very much happy to Marshall his boys well in right time to put back Chennai to a paltry score of 129. And another point to note, no catches were dropped by RCB and their fielding also looked so good.

match 44

Chasing a low score of 130, RCB had a terrible start losing to key players in the top, Kallis and Dravid for 0 and 8 respectively. Uthappa too didn’t stay much longer. But its the man in form Ross taylor and Virat kohli joined hands together for RCB, they found boundaries when they were needed and kept the run rate in control all the time. Kohli gave a chance to Hayden which he misjudged completely (shud say he missed the match) tat time he was just 16. later he went on to score 38 before caught in deep midwicket by oram. RCB wouldn’t have struggled a lot, if not Dhoni is captain.

Yep a spl note for the brilliant captaincy by Dhoni, who really made a match out of no where, he marshaled his troops well and made RCB always thinking. he even had 3 close in fielder(slip, silly point and leg slip) for Boucher while murali is bowling in a T20 game. Hats off to his efforts and he is a gr8 asset for india no doubt in it.

In the end, Kumar’s made the RCB to take beyond the target safely with 2 wickets and balls to spare. Bowling, Morkel looked effective in the  top, later on murali and balaji did the best they can, but it all too much to blame with a par less score.

Good show by RCB and Good game in the end….

Match 45:

Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals

Both teams with 11 points, who ever wins, take themselves closer to semi’s berth. A cracker of a game is on.  Shane won the toss and decided to Bat first and opening partnership came good for Rajasthan, Smith amd quiney came good when it mattered. Smith departed after the power play was over. Quiney and pathan got together and kept milking for singles and few boundaries here and there. Mumbai got the important breakthrough when they had Yusuf for 17 just before the strategic break, which really got them back on the game. Later on Jadeja joined the show with Rob and took a partnership of 50 which really the turning point of the game.  But after Rob departed, again a batting collapse and credit to mumbai bowlers to restrict Rajasthan just to 145, where they looked to get 160 in ease.

Bowling, Jayasuriya got 2 but thats a gamble on 20th over. Neither sorry figures nor the gr8 figures. good display for a T20 game.

match 45

Taget set was 146, with a new batting line up, Mumbai was straight away into trouble,  losing 3 quick wickets which really gave the momentum shift to rajasthan. Both sanath and sachin left out their natural game and tried to pull the game back back from the slump situation, so they weren’t fluent and didn’t take nay kind of risk, which means runs dried up with just singles. Believe it or not, Two Destructive batsmen in the world Sachin and Sanath batted together for 43 deliveries without even a single boundary.  after Sanath gone, sachin pulled out few classic shots to bring mumbai back , but Warne had different plans and he took the master by the spin and seems tats the end, but Abshiek provided a 99.5% victory for Mumbai, with his cracking knock of 35, when he was out, Mumbai needed just 6 from 8 balls with 3 wickets in hand. it went to last over, with needing 4 to win, Munaf bowled a over of his life, he took Kulkarni with an excellent yorker to sen him back LBW, then its Mumbai who left out to hold the nerve’s and two more  run outs to put the screens for Mumbai and almost an exit screen for Semi’s hope. Bowling, Man its Shane all over again, picked up three important wickets in the right time and his cool head captaincy which got the victory for his team.

Whom do u blame Captain, or Coach , Reckless change in the batting order, just trying to strengthen the middle order, they kept sanath and sachin for 4 and 5, which really back fired.
